So you're an inventor, and you've just created a product that sucks quite a bit more than the ones people are already using. How do you sell it?

Why, by creating a infomercial that portrays everyday tasks as being next to impossible without your product. As seen in the 10 most laughably misleading ads on TV.

Xerox: The Copying Company

Xerox is attempting to update its image by launching a new brand identity. After spending millions of dollars on research (evidently with Xbox customers) the new brand is intended to show the "human" qualities of Xerox -- and its long-time spirit of innovation.The new sphere-shaped symbol is sketched with lines that link to form an illustrative "X," represent Xerox's connections to its customers, partners, industry and innovation." That's funny because to me it still says "we are the copier company."

Shift Happens


My wife showed me this "Shift Happens" video that was presented at a conference she recently attended. It does a great job of dramatizing the impact technology and the internet are having on the world we live in, but for some reason every time I watch it I have the desire to purchase an XM radio.

Vonster Illustration


After many years as a Creative Director I tend to spend more time directing and less time creating. But I still love to design. I recently came across these tutorials from illustrator Von Glitschka, better known as Vonster. These tutorials are a great resource providing illustrative techniques you can use in Photoshop and illustrator.
